"Poster Girl' Helen Meckiffe joins Poolview

Helen and Robin at the recent Elevate Exhibition in the Excel Arena - London

We’re thrilled to welcome our new Business Manager Helen Meckiffe to the Poolview Limited team!

If she looks familiar, it’s because she’s been part of our world for years - featuring on our website, in educational underwater videos, training materials, marketing content and I must also add that she has been "rescuing" my son Finley, for close to 15 years now in quite a few of our product video productions!

I first met Helen in Aldershot around 2009, trying to follow and keep up with her car and we have since had quite the "dance" during the intervening years and I was absolutely over the moon that she could officially join us just in time for the Elevate – the B2B event of physical activity exhibition.

Helen brings over 20 years of experience in the leisure industry, starting as a lifeguard and working her way through roles in facility management, health and safety, and industry development. She’s passionate about improving lifeguard culture, systems, and training, ensuring safety remains a priority without compromising user experience.

With hands-on experience as a General and Contract Manager, Helen understands the challenges operators face and is committed to developing practical, user-friendly solutions. She has also worked as a Group Lifeguarding Manager, advising on new facility designs, operational procedures and driving industry progress.

Most recently, Helen has focused on health and safety, conducting audits, supporting clients, and shaping standards and guidance for the leisure sector. Her industry knowledge has enabled her to provide best practice insights and help operators navigate compliance with confidence.

With a Psychology degree, Helen offers a fresh perspective on automated monitoring and detection systems for swimming pools. Her understanding of human behaviour, decision-making, and technology use will help us explore how people adapt to new systems in everyday settings. From getting used to new tech to trusting automation, Helen’s insights can help create designs that improve safety, efficiency, and user experience, making sure technology works smoothly alongside human habits.

Helen is a passionate trainer and has been an RLSS National Trainer Assessor for over a decade. She has delivered lifeguarding courses and contributed to the development of respected industry qualifications and guidance. Her expertise in training provides valuable insight into what’s needed to support the integration of technology across the leisure industry - and how Poolview can help. With her deep knowledge of qualifications, training delivery, and the industry’s evolution, Helen’s experience is truly invaluable.

Helen said: “I’m thrilled to be part of Poolview and put my skills to use in a field I’m truly passionate about. I’ve been a strong advocate for Assisted Lifeguard Technology for the past 15 years, ever since Poolview first began. The team here is incredibly skilled and driven by a genuine commitment to making swimming pools safer while supporting lifeguards and operators. It’s inspiring to work alongside cutting-edge technology and people who truly care about saving lives. I’m especially excited about what’s ahead, with our new above-water cameras and integrated intelligence systems shaping the future of pool safety.”
