Poolview - site survey in Norfolk

Sometimes on my travels you get to see some swimming pools with really "quirky" design features - which I am sure at the time was thought to be brilliant idea!

I have never seen "pillars" like this in a pool to demarcate the end of a 25metre pool - something to kick off or do your tumble turns from!

Creates "excellent" blind spots for the Lifeguard to work around.

Poolview Plus™ - Poolview site Survey in London

The need for drowning detection and prevention systems covers many different pools in many different areas. Today we were in London, conducting a site survey on a "high end" swimming pool - looking at our Poolview Plus™ Computer intelligent solution for the detection of drowning accidents in swimming pools.

The fact is, that a small body of water can take your life, no matter your country of origin, colour of skin, nor the size of your wealth.

Poolview Technology on a visit to a Victorian Pool

Looking more like a banqueting hall than a beautifully restored swimming pool, I was delighted to be invited to have a look around this wonderful facility whilst visiting the area. The enthusiasm and warmth from the staff was palpable as well as the look of pride on their faces as I was given the tour.

With its high vaulted ceilings and wonderful architecture, the natural light brings to life all the classic features - it really does look like a very pleasant place to do a few lengths!

Norway, SwimEye™ and Poolview

Director - Robin McGloughlin has just returned from an exciting few days in Norway with our partners Davo - reviewing the latest software and hardware updates for the SwimEye Computerised Automatic Drowning Detection System. Robin was accompanied by Caleb Brown where they discussed Aquatic Safety in general whilst seeing the latest SwimEye™ System being "put through it's paces"

A resounding success - look forward to further SwimEye™ product information updates and the latest installation news in the New Year.

The Pool Awaits Poolview

On site this week getting ready to install Poolview in this "crazy design" swimming pool. A magnificent £12million refurbishment project in Kent - but the 70's style pool tank remains which has it's own set of debatable and inherent design features.

Poolview reveals their all new Wide Screen Monitor

Say hello to the latest development for our Poolview Safer Swimming System i.e. a 16:9 wide screen monitor.

Wide screen monitors have been around for a while in all walks of life, however at Poolview we are now manufacturing our own specialist pool-side monitors in 16:9 format, specifically designed for the poolside environment, with upgraded connections and zero buttons to "play with"!

The monitors are also available with an anti-glare screen which in our field trials proved to be highly effective.

The 182km Giant Killer offers cyclists the chance to cycle through an area of unsurpassed beauty. It is definitely classed as the BIG one and is not for the faint-hearted but for serious cyclists up for a lung-busting challenge. The route starts off by heading west towards Bushmills, along the Coast Road before tackling some reasonably tough, long climbs through the Glens of Antrim. At Glenarm the route follows the coast road all the way back to Ballycastle including the Torr Head Road which is sure to push cyclists of every level right to the limit. Robin hopes to be rewarded with the best scenery on offer along the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Make no mistake this will be a tough day in the saddle with some serious climbs and thrilling descents but for all who complete this challenge it will certainly be a day to remember.

Macmillan Cancer Support provide support for patients and their families right from the moment they are diagnosed, through their treatment and beyond providing a constant source of support, giving energy and inspiration to help sufferers and their families take back control of their life.

Robin McGloughlin, Sales Director of Poolview said “no one should face cancer alone, we have all been effected either personally or know someone close that has suffered, raising money and supporting Macmillian means a lot to us.  I’ve been training hard for this challenge using a ‘MyZone’ heart rate monitor to track my progress.  I’ve managed to clock over 40000 MEP points and cycled over 6000 kilometres this summer.”

Poolview and the "active-net" Home Page

Great to make the "active-net" home page - reviewing this years 2015 event.

Without doubt the best Leisure Networking event around. I did not think it was possible to meet so many quality people, in such a short space of time, achieve so much and cement what hopefully will be, long-term friendships, partnerships and relationships!

All I ask for the next time at this well organised and managed event is some sort of ability to slow down time!

Outdoor Poolview in Kent

What a joy and what a beautiful to survey an outdoor Poolview Safer Swimming System installation in Kent on Wednesday. We had a look at four pools in the area in all, but did take a little longer than normal to "check" in the fine weather. Last summer we installed Poolview in an outdoor pool in June - let's hope we can time this one right too!

Poolview - providing "Additional Essential Vision" to Lifeguards

Poolview Ltd attends "active-net" at Loughborough

Just back from a very successful couple of days at Loughborough - attending "active-net".

"active-net" is a new approach to "buyer meets supplier" events, combining quality one-to-one meetings with a comprehensive seminar and networking programmes. "active-net" is aimed at all operators and suppliers with a focus on the public sector whether it be Trusts, Local Authorities or Universities/Colleges.

Robin McGloughlin - Sales Director at active-net 2015

We therfore had the pleasure of meeting some current customers, old friends and aquaintances as well as the opportunity to establish some new relationships, partnerships, product enquiries and industry collaborations.

Lots of interest in our "Poolview Safer Swimming System" -  to help increase safety, offer new flexibility and help in reducing staff overheads.

It was thought provoking to note that quite a few facility operators assumed that Poolview was an automatic computerised drowning detection system - which it is not - Poolview requires interaction with a fully qualified lifeguard on the poolside incorportating our images into their 10:20 scan.

It was further very pleasing to demonstrate how Poolview can help towards reducing staffing costs and that a business case can be made to install, with a firm period established for cap-ex payback.

Many many thanks to active-net and the staff - In particular to David Monkhouse @DPMCL
